SWARM

Electric agroecological equipment, reducing soil compaction and CO2 emissions in farming.

Is the conventional farming system able to meet the crucial issues of tomorrow such as soil preservation and climate change mitigation? It can, but on one condition. It’s necessary to change the agricultural paradigm by using new eco-friendly equipment as an alternative to heavy thermal tractors that are responsible for severe soil compaction and massive CO2 emissions. The EU-funded SWARM project will bring to market the first collaborative electric agroecological equipment. Imagine a fleet of unmanned lightweight robotic vehicles following a leader vehicle driven by a single farmer, thus increasing efficiency and work output. This will reduce the ground pressure up to 15 times compared to thermal tractors. This fleet, named SWARM, is CO2 emission-free.
