Four Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) projects have made it to the final round of the 2018 Innovation Radar award and will be pitching their ideas for the market at the ICT 2018 in Vienna
Four projects funded by the EU Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) programme are among the 20 finalists of this year’s Innovation Radar award. The award is an initiative of the EU commission to acknowledge innovative European research project. The finalists were chosen for the following categories: Tech for Society, Excellent Science, Industrial & Enabling Tech, Best Young SME, and Best early stage innovation. Having reached the final gives these projects the opportunity to pitch their innovations at the ICT 2018: Imagine Digital-Connect Europe.
The finalist FET projects are:
Category EXCELLENCE SCIENCE
- aPad (which is part of a seed-project called subCULTron) represented by the Laboratory for Underwater Systems and Technologies – University of Zagreb
- M-CUBE represented by partner Fresnel Institute – Aix-Marseille University
- CHROMAVISION represented by the partner Technical University of Denmark
Category BEST YOUNG SME
Category EARLY STAGE INNOVATION
The aim of this pitching event is to convince a panel of experts from the entrepreneurial, investment and start-up sectors to fund their innovation. Prior to that, experts and professionals from the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) will offer targeted support and advice that would help the finalists in preparing their pitches. This initiative seeks to push researchers to go “out of the lab and into the market”, which matches with one of the key actions of the FET programme.
Winners of each category will be selected by a jury.
