Introducing ultraweight optoelectronic technology optimal for space use
Based on PHENOMEN, this FET Innovation Launchpad aims to build a silicon-photonics technology for space applications. As shown in PHENOMEN, the opto-electornic oscillator (OEO) can localise the frequency and generate multiple harmonics at microwave frequencies above 10 GHz without any feedback mechanism. By being extremely compact, immune to electromagnetic interference and compatible with silicon-based technology, SIOMO will build ultraweight OEOs which will be optimal for space use.
