Alternative uses for computing devices using nanoscale biomolecules
Bio4Comp Award: a competition for alternative uses for biocomputation devices in diagnostics or biotechnology
The H2020 funded project Bio4Comp organized the third open-innovation Bio4Comp Award for novel ideas that conceptually or technically advance the field of parallel computing with biological agents in a substantial manner. By participating in this idea competition there is a chance to win the Bio4Comp Award of 5000 Euro.
Beside the realization of high-performance biocomputers, the integration of biotechnology and combinatorial logic could be upgraded to customized lab-on-a-chip devices or open up new application fields for biological data storage or combinatorial biotechnology. This cross-disciplinary approach between biology, nanotechnology and computer science could enable groundbreaking innovations in the bio economy.
Proposals are invited to describe possible applications of molecular motor driven, network-based devices in diagnostics or other application scenarios within biotechnology.
The call deadline is on 17 July 2021.
