Vienna

On 22 January 2020 the Time Machine Austria Info Day will be held in Vienna. The workshop aims to update the interested stakeholders on the current status quo of the Time Machine project and its institutional framework, the Time Machine Organisation (TMO).

The Time Machine project is an initiative supported by the European Union that seeks fundamental breakthroughs in the development of technologies for cultural heritage (archives, museums, libraries, archaeology, cultural heritage, etc.). The resulting Big Data of the Past should make it possible to develop applications of all kinds that open up new approaches to history and culture. Time Machine is creating a huge distributed digital information system mapping the European social, cultural and geographical evolution across times.

Just recently, the Time Machine Organisation (TMO) has been founded as governing body of the Time Machine project. With already over 400 members from across Europe, the TMO represents an unprecedented network of leading academic/research institutions, spearheading industrial enterprises, renowned GLAM institutions, like-minded associated programmes or networks as well as civil society organisations that strive towards a common goal.

The Info Day programme will provide you with up-to-date information on the Time Machine project and the Time Machine Organisation. Further presentations of ground-breaking Austrian projects in the field of technology and cultural heritage will complete the Info Day that will be held in German. More information available here.
